Born outside of Pittsburgh, PA, I currently reside in Hopkinton, MA where I focus my time on my family, my painting and my community. I received a BA with a concentration in Painting from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. After working in several galleries, moving to Massachusetts and starting a family, I began painting again.
During my years at home full time with my daughter, I expressed my creativity by painting with watercolors and taking photographs. While I still enjoy both of those mediums, I am now painting with oils. Nature is my constant inspiration and I started with representational landscapes and still-lifes. I believe that the world is the ultimate artwork and that trying to mimic that beauty through representational painting is a worthwhile goal. However, after several years working that way I find myself drawn more towards the colors of this world than the actual landscapes. Now I am working on a new series exploring color and how it works and contrasts with other colors.
My works have been exhibited in various galleries and shows throughout Boston's Metrowest communities. My paintings and photographs are in private collections from the northeast and the midwest to the west and beyond. I am currently a member of the Fountain Street Studios in Framingham, MA.
